IOBC-Global Early Career Award

The International Organisation for Biological Control (IOBC) is offering support of a total of 5,000 Euro intended to support students and early-career biocontrol researchers and practitioners (500 Euro for 8 non-residents and 333,3 Euro for 3 residents).

Eligibility criteria:

 

(1) The grantee has to be a paying member of IOBC (membership status will be confirmed by Treasurers of the respective Regional Sections). If you are a paying member of the Sociedad Entomologica Argentina (SEA) contact secretariaiobcntrs@gmail.com to see if you have double membership SEA / IOBC – NTRS.

 

(2) The grantee has to be of age 35 or under at the time of the meeting/workshop.

 

(3) The grantee has to be in a biocontrol career or study1

 

(4) The grantee has to present on biocontrol during the meeting (oral or poster acceptable, the grantee must present in person.)

 

(5) Successful grantees are required to write a short item for IOBC-Global newsletter.

 

 

1IPM topics may be accepted if the IPM system has a strong biocontrol component. Applicants working on non-biocontrol components of IPM systems should be assessed on a case by case basis to decide if they qualify for the eligibility criteria. Eligibility is at the discretion of the Working Group convenor, but with justification provided to the Executive Committee of IOBC-Global.

To submit your request for an award please send an email to organisers@isbcw-iguazu.com with the subject: IOBC Award with the following information:

 

Contact details, evidence of age, IOBC membership, abstract of your presentation and a cover letter describing your study/career in biological control.

 

Results will be announced by 1st January 2023.
