Learn more about each session

One member of the scientific committee will act as the main organiser of each session and as moderator during the oral presentations. Each session will begin with a keynote presentation followed by a number of short talks.

Attendees are invited to submit a maximum of 2 abstracts as presenting authors (with 1 oral presentation maximum). Although participants are invited to suggest their preferred form of presentation (oral or poster) when submitting their abstracts, the scientific committee will ultimately decide which contributions are best suited for each type.

Presentation Types

Abstracts may be submitted for one of the following presentation types:

Oral presentations.

Presenters will have 12 minutes to display their research and/or findings of their accepted abstract with the aid of a PowerPoint presentation, followed by a 3-minute period to answer questions from the audience.

Poster.

The Symposium will dedicate an allotted time for poster presentations. Poster sessions are an essential part of the conference that encourage interaction and the exchange of ideas among conference participants.

Oral presentations and Poster Guidelines

When submitting your abstract, please follow the guidelines below to what your abstract should include:

● Abstracts must be submitted online through the form at the end of this page by the presenting author.

● Full abstract should have a maximum of 400 words. Please fill in the provided abstract Word template to comply with format details.

● Submitting an abstract does not constitute or guarantee registration. Note that your abstract will not be included in the Symposium presentation programme if you do not previously register and pay for your registration.

● Two abstracts are allowed per presenting author (only one oral presentation).

● Abstracts will be published in the Proceedings of the Symposium, in digital format.

● Submission of an abstract means consent to its publication in the Symposium Proceedings, its distribution to conference attendees and, occasionally, to other interested persons.

Awards to the best Poster and Oral presentation

CABI and Bodega Argento (Grupo Avinea) will sponsor the XVI ISBCW awards for best student presentation, both Poster and Talk, as well as for professional Poster.

The best talk and poster will be decided based on the vote of the scientific committee. Each member of the committee will be expected to choose their favourite five student posters and five student talks, and the winners will be determined through the simple addition of votes. The prize will be announced and given during the closing remarks of the symposium on Friday 12th of May.
